NOTE:
So, I originally did this reading in March of 2020 and then just never posted it. Rather than completely redoing it, I thought it would be more interesting to combine the old and new in order to take note of progression and development. The notes from 2021 will be marked as such, and the photos of the cards from 2020 will be marked and pictured in black and white.
Pre-Reading:
[MARCH 2020] Usually, I do a little energy check before most of these readings, but Billie’s core energy is actually extremely guarded on a conscious level, and therefore I could only do a simple observational reading of the core and projected energy. I kept that pretty simple as well since it, quite frankly, seems like she just wouldn’t want someone messing around in her world.
What I did get when I was first trying to get a feel for her energy were these big bursting waves that would come and go. I’ve gotten that for people before who either have a lot of pent-up energy in their core, almost as if the soul is literally trying to break out of the body, or it’s a sign of unstable projection, which can be caused by a million different things. I settled on her having pent-up energy, very high levels of stimulation in the core, like her literal core, the Solar Plexus, as well as the more etheric core that holds higher imprinting.
The reason I settled on that was the visuals as well as the SOUNDS I was getting while observing her core energy. Again, I never really tapped her core so the visuals weren’t vivid or detailed in any way, but it was still striking in its own way. I was seeing what looked like a ball of lava, or something like those illustrations in science books of the Earth’s core. Just a simplistic orange and yellow ball, but it was extremely bright and it was humming. The humming itself was stable but every now and again there were be a secondary hum that would “pop” over it and that seemed to line up with the energy pulses I was feeling at the beginning.
There’s a lot of Fire energy. And, yes, she’s a Sagittarius, but there is no way in hell that those visuals and sounds were coming from just the projection around the core, or is just basic cosmic imprinting of Fire Signs. There’s no way. It’s extremely stimulated, constantly humming, and “popping” in order to release what can’t actually be held within the core. I even made a note that “it would be a nuclear explosion” if it lost any kind of containment. I think she has some sense of that because, as I said, she’s guarding her core, or her inner world, in a very conscious way.
I only got two other things after all that. The first was the phrase, “strong connections to few people, few connections to strong people,” and right when I heard that, The Tower card came flying out of the deck — it was the only card to come out throughout the entire observation as well.
Then, finally, I saw the letter ‘M’ spiraling or spinning like it was going down a drain and then everything cut off completely. I wasn’t completely thrown out of her projected energy, but all of the visuals and the ability to actually observe the core came undone there.
[MAY 2021] Other than what I have written out here, I don’t remember doing this reading at all, but I do definitely remember writing about ten times in my notes that there were multiple walls to get through and that if I passed even one there would be an incredible energetic strain or potentially energetic tearing on my part. Surprisingly, yet maybe not so surprisingly, this time around, Billie’s energy was much more open. It certainly was not an open door welcoming anyone and everyone inside, but it was much softer, taking on a quality that would allow someone to maybe feel into her a little more than just observe.
Back when I did this reading, I was still big up on not looking at birth charts for celebrity readings, especially without an accurate and confirmed birth time, because of how I read cosmic imprinting. Back then, it would just sort of pop up and, in my mind, it would kind of screw up how I normally did readings in spite of it adding a lot more context. Such is not an issue for me anymore, so I did look at the general chart for the day Billie was born just to see if I could get anything without having to dive too deep or pull cards.
Something that stood out right away was the potential conjunction of the Moon and Neptune in her natal chart, in Aquarius, which trined a retrograde Saturn in Gemini. Typically, trines are quite positive, but something about this was adding this odd, strenuous stimulation directly to the body and brain. More specifically, I kept seeing this image of a thin metal wire the was inside the brain conducting electricity, like little bolts of lightning shooting down it every now and again. The way these little bursts of electricity were firing off, sporadically but almost rhythmically, literally made me think of the use of a telegraph. However, it did end up being quite a bit different as there was this odd quality to it that contributed to me writing down a few different times that it was a “misfiring” in the brain.
I was really confused by this and the more I tried to feel into it or look deeper, it kept really syncing more and more into the brain, and eventually, I made notes of question towards it being connected to speech, like a speech impediment since there was the connection to the brain and expression through the Air Signs, however, it was made clear this was connected specifically to the nervous system, to the body. It took me about fifteen minutes to remember that Billie has talked about having Tourettes and I think that might be what this lines up with the most with a “misfiring” in the brain running through the nervous system and potentially affecting the ability to communicate, process, or perceive the self clearly.
Since that has to do with personal medical stuff, I didn’t try to pry too much more into that, but since she has talked about it herself, I thought I would include it here since, one, it was literally the only visual that I got for her at this point in the reading, and two, I thought it was kind of interesting seeing a potential link between a stimulated aspect in the natal chart and something occurring in the body.
I did pull some cards here this time around for a better look at her general core energy. I thought this was pretty interesting as the presence of the 4 and 5 of Swords behind and in front of the 9 of Wands shows that very conscious, logical, intellectual application of control within her own mind and energy. Basically, with the way these are laid out, she has the 4 of Swords behind the 9 of Wands sleeping, resting, meditating even, an aspect of her own mind very deep in contemplation and potentially in a state of stasis for the sake of personal healing or rebuilding of the mental state of some kind. The 9 of Wands, in spite of its “bruised” state, stands guard energetically, mirroring what I saw back in March of 2020 with those layers of walls that wrapped around her core, or her inner world.
Out there in front, the 5 of Swords performs an operation of some kind that I described in my notes as “strategic trickery.” In the 5 of Swords, she is the victor there in front, collecting the swords of the defeated opponents as trophies. It can be looked at as this mentally or emotionally strong state of victory, beating other people out, being intellectually superior in some way, but really it’s much more toned down and simple. Basically, as I was seeing it, what is shown in the 5 of Swords, within the context of Billie’s core, is actually round two, or a rematch. In the first round, she lost her swords, she lost some of that mental control or clarity, ability to communicate or process clearly, the things attributed to Swords/Air symbolically. This is why the 9 of Wands, who traditionally is described as paranoid or on-edge following a battle or beating, stands between this current state of victory and the current state of rest and healing.
The note of “strategic trickery” comes in the idea that she could try to push the 5 of Swords, this victorious, more in-control state, as being the only thing there, as if the 4 of Swords and 9 of Wands are not part of the process at all. It’s not a matter of lying or anything like that, it’s a form of self-protection, even an act of protecting that inner, more personal process of healing whilst she, as the 5 of Swords depicts, collects the pieces that are rightfully hers and starts to assemble them into a fuller, more authentic picture that she can then communicate with the world in her own time.
The Reading:
[MAY 2021] There is definitely a noticeable difference between the previous layout and the current one. Even just with the image of the cards themselves, things feel a little more clean-cut and stable, as well as a lot fuller compared to the small, almost empty feeling of the reversed Spider and Firefly in the original reading. There is also a lot more stimulated Air energy in the new layout with the Butterfly, Hummingbird, Nightingale, and the reversed Dragonfly compared to the previous layout’s Hawk and reversed Firefly.
Compared to the previous layout, the current one does lack Water energy other than the presence of Water that comes with the Dragonfly. This again goes into that more consciously controlled state of being where the emotional processing and healing is not necessarily being repressed but is essentially contained within the more logical or intellectual process or transformation of the Butterfly, specifically behind the Butterfly with the Sea Serpent.
Lastly, there’s this interesting duality between the Core States and the Higher Self Core Alignments between the two layouts. In the previous layout, Billie’s core state was represented by the reversed Spider with a Higher Self Core Alignment represented by the Octopus. On the flipside, currently, her core state is represented by a combination of the Butterfly and the Sea Serpent while her Higher Self Core Alignment is represented by the Wolf. Basically, in the previous set, her core was quite locked down, as if the web around the spider were those layers of walls that I mentioned, and the Octopus was this prompt to loosen up and break free. The fact that the transition there would have been Earth to Water meant that it would have been like a self-undoing that would have lead to a more emotionally stimulated, self-aware state, which is what would have been needed prior to the core state of the Butterfly and the Sea Serpent which is connected to that current state of healing.
As for the current layout, the Butterfly and the Sea Serpent are very much breaking free but it’s not deconstructing something the way the Octopus was when that Water energy started to break down the walls of that Earth energy around the Spider. Instead, the Air and Fire energy attributed to the Butterfly and the Sea Serpent, the stimulation of the inner core towards transformation and healing, is very constructive, actively building something within the cocoon of her core that will eventually break out and really flourish in a more personal way for her. The Wolf, another round of Earth energy proceeds this flourishing, kind of acting as a new shell, but one that is more open, more connected, more trusting, but trusting of others due to trust within the self, a self-confidence having to do with recognition of personal will and control.
So, basically, it’s kind of like the core is flip-flopping, but every time it flips, it’s doing so on a higher level. It’s very interesting.
March 2020 Core Energy: Spider — Earth (rev.)
Current State of Core Energy: Sea Serpent — Spirit + Butterfly — Air
[MARCH 2020] The current state of core energy is interesting because, with the Spider in reverse, a reversed Earth energy, it suggests a sense of instability that is causing her to hold back on her own creation or expression. Quite literally, it seems to show a more grounded version of what I was saying about her consciously guarding her core energy or inner world.
I don’t want to go too into that as it might have to do with some personal stuff, but basically, there’s just a bit of strain happening as the soul wants to break out and continue spinning that web in a massive, huge, innovative fashion, but on a conscious level she’s trying to slow down or settle herself in order to avoid an overload, or I suppose avoid that nuclear explosion.
With all of this, she does seem to be very self-aware or at least has a good sense of her own stability and mental space.
[MAY 2021] The Sea Serpent and the Butterfly fit in very well with what was coming up in the energy reading, especially in relation to the 4 of Swords. Specifically, the Sea Serpent, which is a Spirit card, which in this reading shows a direct alignment with the Higher Self within this process already, is described in this deck’s book as “healing emotional wounds,” and “expressing desires.” Very on point with what was coming up before.
As with all seven of the Spirit cards, the Sea Serpent is associated with one of the seven main chakras of the body, specifically the Sacral Chakra, which rules over the more conscious and deliberate action and expression compared to the Solar Plexus which is more continuous and subconscious projection and action. This chakra is very much connected to creativity and creation as a whole, as well as connection and communication on a deeper, more emotional, or spiritual level with other people. This coupled with that transformative and freeing energy of the Butterfly is really presenting this process that is bringing her towards a better sense of personal liberation.
I find this really interesting to think about in relation to the previous state of the core where I described it as her potentially wanting to continue to spin that web in a more innovative design, while here it seems more obvious that the Butterfly, the point of liberation itself would only get stuck in the web. It gives that idea of an artist being tied to one medium or one image which, although seems like a good home in one moment, can be suffocating or deadly in another based on the personal state. This comes down to the adjustment of the environment based on the adjustments of the inner being rather than the adjustment of the inner being based on the environment.
In very simple terms, the combination of the Sea Serpent and the Butterfly shows that Billie is in a state of learning to really define her image, define her mediums of creation and expression, and free herself from outside expectations. She’s learning to live and create fully for herself.
March 2020 Water Alignment: Firefly — Air (rev.)
Current Water Alignment: Lion — Fire
[MARCH 2020] The Firefly here is a direct reflection of the Spider energy in the overall core which does kind of give more weight to the idea that she’s containing herself in order to avoid some kind of overload with her mental or emotional processing. Both the Spider and the Firefly in reverse suggest things like being tired, burnt out, and feeling discouraged, and here in the Water Alignment, which rules over the emotions, creativity, and intuition, it’s like she’s pulling herself back from literally “burning too bright,” or “burning too fast.” Again, it goes back to that extreme amount of Fire energy.
Between the Spider and the Firefly, it’s very interesting because it’s like the Spider’s web is what catches the ideas and inspiration of the Firefly. So, really the Firefly, or the Water Alignment, is the governing factor, the emotional state is the ruling factor. It rules how she creates and how receptive she is to inspiration, and therefore, it rules the working creation of the Spider. It gives purpose to the web that she weaves, to what she puts out and puts on display.
[MAY 2021] I think with the previous interpretation of the reversed Firefly I was a little too focused on the aspect of Fire because, really, while Fire is definitely a present factor in the Firefly, Air is the ruling energy of that influence, meaning that with this card in the Water alignment it was both misaligned and imbalance. When they are not properly mixed, Water and Air can cause tension between intellect/logic and intuition/emotion. We are taught, in general, that these two things, ruled by Air and Water respectively, are complete opposite ends, that one is smart and one is dumb, but really when put together, they provide more wisdom and clarity that goes beyond simply knowing. Think of it as the wisdom of the Owl where intellect is found in the basis of observation and intuition is found in the basis of interpretation of what is being observed. The two ends are not opposites, just counterparts.
In this sense, that Firefly basically demonstrates an act of self-suffocation. That small flicker of Fire is overrun by that overpowering Water, that stimulated emotion which I did describe as the ruling factor in its reflection of the core. The Water completely dowses the Fire, creating an imbalance and misaligned state between those two elements. Water and Fire, which are the hardest elements to balance, can create either boiling Water which attributes to emotional instability and lashing out, or it can create smoke from that doused Fire. In this case, it was smoke. Smoke, which then pollutes the conscious logic of the Air starts to suffocate the overall operation. Imagine trying to run through a building full of smoke. Naturally, you need more air while running, therefore you breathe more smoke in, and overall it either slows you down immensely as a way to stop the inhalation, or you drop, completely pass out due to the pollution in the lungs.
In simpler terms, this is like a lack of confidence, anxiety, or insecurity causing someone to not perform, express, or communicate to the full extent of their ability. The insecurity washes over the inspiration, passion, or drive that someone has to do something and creates the thoughts of the worst-case scenario, which either kills the confidence while pursuing the goal or completely stops the person from pursuing the goal at all. This creates that “flickering light” effect of the Firefly where someone can seem so confident one second, especially while talking about doing something, and then suddenly very insecure or scared when they go to actually act on their plans.
The Lion gives us a great example of Fire and Water being properly mixed and balanced. This is even more exciting as the Lion here connects back to the Wolf in the Higher Self Core Alignment. I forgot to mention, but when a Spirit card shows up in the current Core State, that means the individual is already in alignment with their Higher Self and is already receptive to the incoming influence of whatever shows up in the Higher Self Core Alignment. That means, whatever comes up in the four separate alignments, whether they show up imbalanced or out of alignment, are exactly where they need to be and share a connection to the incoming core influence. The Lion, which is predominantly Fire, holds a relatively equal hold on Earth energy, which presents this very stable, grounded, but regal and powerful energy overall.
The Lion here feels like an effort to take things slow, again showing a more conscious level involvement within this process. There’s a bit of restraint shown in terms of action, but this very direct, clean, deliberate projection of this power and control. The Lion in the image is not up and running, or baring its teeth, it is just sitting there, head high, looking out into the distance, giving off this very specific kind of intimidating energy that can only come from people who are genuinely finding ground within themselves, finding self-sustaining confidence and self-assurance. It’s like she’s not even looking at other people, she’s making a conscious effort to not pay any mind to anyone that tries to tell her she’s not a lion, that she’s not this regal, powerful individual, and that includes putting effort into not listening to herself when she gets a bit low and starts to think that way. She’s self-affirming here as the Lion.
Keep in mind that the Water Alignment is the very base, the very foundation of the core, it is the seed of all manifestation and creation. Working on personal change from the ground up, from the inside out creates a much more stable platform that is much harder to break down later on. She actually seems very well-rounded in this way.
March 2020 Fire Alignment: Phoenix — Spirit
Current Fire Alignment: Hummingbird — Air
[MARCH 2020] And, golly gee, here in the Fire Alignment she has the Phoenix, which is a Spirit card. The Fire Alignment is the area of projection, passion, and physical action, and creation. It’s the fuel that actually pushes a person forward and makes things happen.
The Phoenix is associated with the Root Chakra, the energy center that anchors us into the body and connects us to the physical space. Here with Billie, I’m seeing it as a bridge between her soul and the audience, the world in general. It’s kind of odd because it’s like here it would suggest that there is no filter between her and the audience, everything is completely 100% bare soul to the world at all times, which could explain why there is so much stimulation. There’s an extremely high vibration being channeled through her that her core can’t actually hold, which is why it’s pulsing out all funny.
When people hold a higher vibration than they can manage, which more than anything just means they don’t know how to stabilize it or ground it between more conscious and etheric levels, it can cause a lot of anxiety, a lot of physical issues, physical pain, overall hyperstimulation. The stimulation itself can cause a person to “crash” and hit low points or just become detached as the conscious mind literally taps out on having to process everything that is coming in through Water or going out through Fire.
I’m not extremely familiar with Billie, but I’ve seen a couple of interviews of her where she talked about her mental health, so perhaps she’s very, very aware of her own mental and emotional processing now, and therefore when she starts to feel this overstimulation she knows to contain it, at the very least on a conscious level. Specifically, she might think to block off an emotional response or certain mindsets thinking they are stemming from external factors like stress and the overall hecticness of her career when really the issue is this high vibrational soul influence in her “mundane core” that is causing the upsets internally in relation to stress and over-stimulation externally. As for the external factors, she’s literally “programmed” to handle all of that, it’s just a matter of figuring it out, which she will if she hasn’t already.
However, this doesn’t show that she’s actually balancing her core energy, she’s just blocking it off and adding personal filters which is why there might be a bit of tension or confusion as the soul and the conscious state are essentially trying to do two opposite things at the same time.
The Phoenix on its own is associated with rebirth, of course, with the legends of the great bird-beasts that die in flames and are reborn in their own ashes. This kind of gave me a sense that she is constantly creating, constantly being reborn, and growing very rapidly. Everything she projects energetically, verbally, or physically is towards creation and innovation. This just screams Sagittarius in relation to the expansion energy of Jupiter. Not only that but according to her birth date, she has an Aquarius Moon as well, so if you smack those two things together and add intentional creation, you literally get a living, breathing legend.
[MAY 2021] Looking back at the Phoenix here in relation to the new state of the Hummingbird, the Phoenix feels very overpowered, the Fire Alignment, in general, feels overpowered. Just reading this section back I’m more aware now of a very clear separation between the conscious level processing and the energetic processing of this alignment for her at this time and maybe throughout her life. Because her core is a bit more open now, I was able to tab back into the energy signature of the Phoenix here and the visual that came with it suggests that, yes, there was and is continuous rebirth, but it was occurring much more rapidly on an energetic level that I was able to realize then. Basically, it’s like the Phoenix would burn, be reborn in the ashes, within two minutes grow back to old age, and burn again. The cycle of death and rebirth was occurring so fast it seemed nearly pointless on an internal level as nothing could really stick, nothing could sink in, however, externally, this was showing up as very rapid progression, fast-paced leveling-up. I’d say that could be observed very clearly with her career and how rapidly she grew and expanded not only in popularity but in image and artistry.
Of course, because of how rapid things were moving and changing both internally and externally, she could have felt some level of disconnect from all of it and would have, especially now, really had to consciously remind herself to slow down and process what was happening. I feel like there would have been some awareness to the fact that, if she did feel disconnected from her own life and experiences, she would have been able to tell that it wasn’t because those situations and experiences were literally meaningly but, better yet, she was just zooming through them too quickly. A prolonged sense of detachment and lack of meaning can really run things down and give someone a sense that absolutely nothing could make them happy, especially for someone in Billie’s position, but her own sensitivity, as well as her intelligence and already present awareness, would have combatted that and led to an understanding of an issue within perspective not necessarily the position.
Now, she has the Hummingbird here in her Fire Alignment. An Air energy balancing within the Fire Alignment really fuels a steady and very excited projection. The Hummingbird is very talkative and eager to express, eager to share, as well as consume, learn, explore, experiment. It’s a very Gemini-esque kind of energy, a more playful and childlike — not childish — mindset that really goes along well with the sense of freedom that the Butterfly gives.
Most importantly, there’s a lack of fear here, especially toward the self and self-understanding. I don’t know how to explain it exactly as it’s coming in visually, but it’s like the only reason the Hummingbird is so eager to share, express, and create is that it’s already done so much internal exploration that it’s discovered gold inside of itself and is ready to show it off. Sometimes, when people feel insecure or wish to block themselves off from other people, there can be this sense of fear toward the self, literally being afraid of your own image, your own thoughts and feelings because of the perceived damage they could cause to your relationships, and in turn, you. There is no trace of that here.
Of course, that does not mean that Billie is completely free of insecurity, she is human after all, but specifically when it comes to her expression, her display, her message even, she is open to sharing it. To clarify, it’s like as long as she understands something within herself, understands her perspective, her feelings on a matter, and has all the pieces to the puzzle, she is very happy to share the image. This, again, goes back into the process of the 5 of Swords where she is depicted as collected the pieces in order to put them together into a cohesive image to share with others. However, here, it’s more clear that there are many different pieces to many different images and she’s going about putting things together one at a time, which is definitely more beneficial to her in the long run.
March 2020 Earth Alignment: Hawk — Air
Current Earth Alignment: Dragonfly — Air (rev.)
[MARCH 2020] The Earth Alignment shows the connection to physical space, groundedness, and self-awareness. There is a sense of a divide here as the Hawk itself is described as being somewhat of a bridge. It is described as a “messenger of divinity,” something that moves between the physical and the non-physical realms, it is a channel within itself. If you were to think of the Phoenix as being the portal, the Hawk is the vehicle that actually moves through it.
The fact that this is also an Air energy shows that what anchors her into the physical space, what she mostly identifies through is her expression and ability to communicate. Her anchor is in other people and therefore her external support system, her friends and family, would be the main driving force behind her wanting to and actually being able to contain her own core energy and maintain her own stability, at the very least avoid the “nuclear explosion.”
The duality here is her self-awareness, or more specifically, her self-perception. I think she is aware of her own insight, of her intelligence and maturity. I think she’s aware to some degree of her ability to take things in and actually process them and understand them, understand people, understand her place among the people around her. However, I don’t think she understands WHY she can do all that. I don’t think she understands entirely that her higher awareness and ability to connect and communicate with people is part of her life purpose, it’s like her toolbox to get the job done.
Of course, she’s technically still a teenager, and who the hell had all that figured out at 18? Certainly not me.
For reference, I’ll include the full description of the Hawk because I think it’s really important to fully grasp what I’m getting at here:
[MAY 2021] That self-perception of the Hawk connected to the overall projection of the Phoenix, that microcosmic big bang, and hyperfast process of rebirth is still very interesting to me, but I really don’t know what else to add to it or how to explain it further. The only thing that I can really see with this visually is that similar to the Phoenix, the Hawk burned and was reborn as well, however, the process, which occurred more consciously for the Hawk, was a bit slower. The Hawk was in fact able to get off the ground and fly for a bit before crashing down in flames, being reborn, and picking up where it left off. There’s this sense there of gaining and losing higher awareness or a sense of understanding over and over again, which definitely could lead to confusion but at the same time lead to the awareness of the reason or pattern of cause and effect behind it. Very interesting.
Currently, she has the reversed Dragonfly here in the Earth Alignment, an energy that equally mixes Water and Air together. Of course, as it is reversed, it creates an internalized imbalance within the energy itself, but it is in alignment with Earth itself. This means that while the “energy bubble” of the Dragonfly is wobbling around and looking unstable, it is able to anchor onto the energy of Earth and, basically, have a place to sit while it balances itself.
In reverse, the Dragonfly is associated with a busy mind, a very stimulated mind filled with both intellectual ponderings and intuitive daydreams. It seems so perfect considering the energy of the Butterfly and the Sea Serpent, the blending of Air, Water, and Fire in a harmonious state of rebirth, this drawn-out performance of breaking out of a shell or cocoon in order to fully realize a true image. It feels like there is this mystical fluttering happening, just moving all around, taking many different shapes, but all very internalized and only occasionally being implemented externally to test the waters, similar to the restraint shown with the Lion.
The Dragonfly is described as a “master of light, illusion, and the mind,” which made me think of a sort of formless, clear, sparkly, physical yet not so physical, gel-like sentience. Again, hard to explain, but it’s like, right now, Billie perceives herself as “formless” or simply not attached to anything, any image that she has previously occupied or that other people expect her to occupy. Yes, she may literally, physically occupy those images, those styles, those representations, but she may not hold them exclusively as a representation of her, but rather something that accentuates her, or elaborates on her. In that sense, she herself is not the image, the image is an ornament that she displays.
The reversal of the Dragonfly here lends more to the formlessness of it, the rising of the shapeless water over the misty air of easily-perceived images and understanding. It’s another form of freedom and of personal liberation.
March 2020 Air Alignment: Panther — Fire (rev.) + Bear — Earth (rev.)
Current Air Alignment: Nightingale — Air
[MARCH 2020] The Air Alignment shows the manner of communication and conscious level thought process, and here she has the Bear and the Panther, both in reverse. I’ll keep this one short as well since it can point to more personal things.
The Bear in reverse is actually the exact same as the Firefly and the Spider in the sense that it “shuts down,” literally goes back to sleep when it’s reversed. The Bear itself is the first card in the deck and it points to a re-awakening and starting something new, akin to The Fool in the Rider-Waite Tarot, so if you align that with the aspect of communication or thought processing, it shows that she could either be putting a filter on things, blocking things out or completely shutting down.
The reversed Panther suggests self-destruction in the sense that rather than the Panther destroying unnecessary structures externally, it starts to destroy necessary structures internally, such as Billie potentially adding filters or blocks to systems she should, at some point, learn to balance and utilize more consistently.
With these energies here in the Air Alignment, I would say this could confirm that it is a very conscious choice to contain the inner world and to guard her energy, which would translate into guarding her emotions and thoughts, things she may consider to be very vulnerable.
[MAY 2021] The reversed Bear and Panther here are quite alarming and I do remember making notes like “oh shit” in response to them. To elaborate just a bit on the previous interpretations of those cards as I don’t think I captured the severity of them then, these two cards together really ring back to the aspect of self-suffocation. The Bear specifically hides and represses while the Panther shreds and eviscerates anything that tries to leak out or that could dismantle the previously set boundaries and stability. It’s quite harsh and almost fiercely logical, really trying to rip away at emotions that could disrupt the appropriate flow of work or expected performance in social situations, and then self-shaming or mental punishment applied when that very thing happens. This is something that could show up in people dealing with self-hatred or self-ridicule, especially when it becomes connected to intrusive thoughts, kind of like automatic self-bullying whenever you slip up.
However, things are a bit brighter here now with the Nightingale, another Air energy very similar to the Hummingbird in its openness and excitement. I actually really like to see this here because it’s almost the exact opposite of the combination of the reversed Bear and Panther. The Hummingbird is described as “speaking freely with kindness” which, rather than seeing that in reference to communication with other people, which is more in line with what the Hummingbird, I see this as communication with herself. Not only is she more willing to allow her own emotions and thoughts to move freely within her, but she’s also willing to engage with them more openly, have internal conversations in order to process things, and in that sense, there is definitely an effort there to be kinder to herself.
March 2020 Higher Self Core Alignment: Octopus — Water
Current Higher Self Core Alignment: Wolf — Earth + Elk — Earth
[MARCH 2020] This is pretty cool, although this could be a scary thing for Billie if it goes against what she’s actively trying to do for herself now.
The Higher Self Core Alignment shows what energy the Higher Self is trying to push down into the core in order to either push forward the current phase of soul progression or to initiate a new one entirely. Here, she has the Octopus, the only Water energy to show up in the entire reading. So far there has been a big focus on Fire and Earth mixing within the realm of Air, which would be the manifestation of her projected soul (Fire) meeting her conscious level call for stabilization (Earth) within her own conscious thought process (Air).
The best thing about this is that the Octopus is literally described as “lacking boundaries and direction,” meaning her Higher Self is really pushing for her to not block or filter her core energy but instead learn to use it, learn to use those tools.
The image of the Octopus is probably the best way to explain this. The head is shown to be straight upright, the eyes dead-set forward, very stable, while the arms are all wiggling around and such, free-flowing, kind of mirroring the spun web of the Spider. Don’t forget, the Water Alignment, the Firefly, is the governing energy over everything. In spite of there being no Water energy present prior to this, that is in fact where her power is.
Basically, in the image of the Octopus, all of the alignments come together and function as one solid form. The Octopus itself exists in the realm of Water and aligns with its natural flow by allowing its limbs to move freely, extending towards what it feels guided to grab onto. The stability of Earth is in the head, the position of the body itself, that focus, and the observation of the world around it. The thought process of Air is with the ability to spread its own awareness to every limb, to maintain a focus in spite of taking on multiple things at once, and really balancing between the logical and the emotional process. Then, of course, Fire is present in the actual action of the limbs, the physical creation, and active expression.
With all four alignments functioning in one form, she would be a master creator, a master of manifestation, something along the lines of The Magician in the Rider-Waite tarot.
[MAY 2021] So, pretty on point with that previously where I mentioned that the Octopus would be the initiate of the Butterfly and the Sea Serpent. The Octopus was a kind of personal revolution, which may have been as simple and noticeable as just deciding to say yes or no to something on Billie’s part. It broke the previous attachments depicted by the Spider as well as broke the cycle, or at least broke Billie out of the realm where the cycle of hyperfast death and rebirth were occurring. Things then slowed down considerably for her, maybe both internally and externally, in which case she was able to engage with the processes of the Butterfly and Sea Serpent.
Now, with the current process, which is already in sync and ushering in the process shown with the Wolf and the Elk, there is a big focus on rooting down and finding form through Fire and Earth. Both the Elk and the Wolf are Earth energies, but they both carry strong Fire energy as well. They are both very externally-oriented energies. Both of them are known leaders with the Wolf being a leader of the group while the Elk, a bit more independent, leads itself and keeps true to its values and vision.
It’s the final act in a sense, quite literally following the process of manifestation which starts with Water (inspiration/dreaming), then Air (conceptualizing/planning), Fire (initiation/action), and then ends with Earth (physical manifestation/completion). Right now, she is very wrapped up in a balanced space of Air and Water, of dreaming and conceptualizing, both very centered for her around self-exploration and expression. The Higher Self is now preparing a transition towards Fire and Earth, towards initiation and completion, the showing of a product, bringing something to life.
In my mind, in relation to the rapid death and rebirth thing slowing down, and the process of the Butterfly being in the core now, it feels like what is to be “fully realized” is a birth, like a final emergence of the Butterfly from the cocoon. It brings to mind the Hawk again, but rather than only flying for a while and then burning, it just manages to keep going, keep flying, taking a break when it chooses but picking back up relatively quickly.
Flight and expansion are big themes between all of these cards and because of that alone, I am very interested to see what Billie has in store for the world going forward with her work and artistry. I stand by why I said last year with the Phoenix — Billie, already, at such a young age, really does seem to be a living, breathing legend.
That’s all I have for this one, thanks for reading!
