The Elemental Alignment of Kim Seokjin (Part 1)
As shown in Jin’s part of the Group Energy Analysis, there is a strong emphasis on Air energy, or communication and connection, with the Throat Chakra, Intuition (Mercury in Cancer), Uranus, and the Four of Swords, but with more of a focus on him, this feels like a big boom in self-expression.
Uranus and the Throat Chakra register as the same card to me, mirroring each other, and in the same vein, the figure in the image of Intuition mirrors the figure in Here and Now, both sat in meditation similar to the person in the Four of Swords. Deep contemplation and observation are happening at the same time. He’s learning from it, adapting to it, and I would say he’s in the mode of finding his footing. Or more so, he’s found his footing, he’s just being mindful of the steps he takes, even when those steps look like massive leaps.
Uranus alongside the Four of Swords and Intuition feels like a call to rebellion, going against what is expected purely for the fun of it. This goes back to the Authority card that was present in his part of the GEA. It feels very sure in terms of how he moves, but unsure in the way people will react to it. It reminds me a bit of myself with how I worry and often fear what other people think about me, but it hardly ever actually stops me from doing or saying what I want to.
Here and Now with the Four of Swords feels like a genuine sense of appreciation for what he has and what he has returned to, and maybe that’s where the interesting confidence/insecurity mix is coming from. He’s confident in what has been built, what is assured, but he doesn’t want to disappoint. The audience or himself.
But overall, there’s a really nice mix of intuitive receptivity and observation alongside quite speedy and active progression. It does give that feeling of a Sagittarius playing around in the 11th House after acquiring and assuring his access to the 10th.
Current Core State: Swan — Water + Horse — Earth
Matching up with what his energy has been projecting in both readings, his current core state is represented here with the Swan and the Horse, Water and Earth energies. Both of which are higher in vibration within their elements and represent aspects of freedom and flow, both internal and external. The Swan is limitless and expansive creative energy, being quite at ease in the water, casting its own reflection, and creating ripples of its own image, its own creative image. The Horse represents the fierce freedom one can feel without any perceived restrictions, limitations, or expectations from others. Both are very strong in their own right, and to see them side-by-side is quite exciting.
Right away, a piece of the Swan’s description stuck out to me: “When the Swan card appears, your soul is calling for attention… for solo time. An inner voice is waiting to be heard, an inner vision likely to be revealed.”
Along with this, this bit in the Horse’s description seemed relevant as well: “The Horse represents the most masterful form of Earth energy within the deck. It provides us with momentum so reliable, so supportive, that you can ride on its back toward a goal, no matter how difficult the terrain.”
The Swan brings me back to all of the intuitive observation, taking notes on how people are reacting but not allowing it to dictate him. It’s like he’s minding the waters, free like the Horse to move as he wishes, but he has no desire to ruffle any feathers or get caught up in any unnecessary drama or issues that are not his to handle. (I’m heavily side-eyeing the people that think celebrities are supposed to be politicians on that one). It’s like the Swan intuitively guides itself by way of the currents, but consciously, logically, minds floating debris, or random whirlpools in order to not lose its sense of autonomy over the operation at hand. This can be both on a big scale with the public, a mid-sized scale with the company and his career, or a smaller scale within himself when dealing with his own emotions, worries, or personal life.
With that, the Horse on its own, with that sure-fire control over itself and sense of freedom, reminds me of the King of Pentacles which was also in his GEA set. It’s the foundation that actually gives him his Authority. No one can take anything from him, or do anything to him, he’s standing, running on solid ground, but there’s still a concern for the water.
Water Alignment: Beaver — Water (rev.)
Here in his Water Alignment, which showcases emotion, creativity, and intuition, the innermost part of the self, Jin has the Beaver in reverse. Water supports Water, with a sound foundation of Earth energy at its base. While this card is in reverse, this doesn’t feel like a misalignment or an imbalance, I feel this more as a slowing of the Beaver’s process as it acts more carefully, like the Swan, about pollution, or outside nonsense or interference, in the water where it is building its dam. Again, this mixes Earth and Water in a very nice way, but can also give way to a bit of anxiety around the water breaking down the dam that the Beaver builds.
There really does seem to be a pattern here of Air and Earth being quite smooth spaces for him to stear through, but Water (and mostlikely Fire as this can “temper” active progression just a tiny bit) being something that is safe to float in until something foreign starts to enter his space. I feel like this would make more sense if we thought of the Beaver as building a house of cards rather than a dam. From our perspective, it’s strong logs cemented with hardened mud, but from his perspective he may feel as though this is all quite delicate but moves with a strong foot regardless.
The Beaver in reverse can also relate to being overworked and unappreciated, but for Jin, I feel this aspect as just having quite a lot going on at once and, as the image could suggest, he feels a bit alone in the process (because he basically is for the first time) but ultimately, still very stable and sure of himself.
Fire Alignment: Stingray — Water (rev.)
Here in his Fire Alignment, the reversed state of this Water energy shows that those turbulent waters, which I don’t believe belong to him completely as I keep seeing it as pollution in the water of the Swan, are potentially slowing down or adding some resistance to his natural Fire energy, his natural urge to just DO IT!
The image is interesting as it feels as though the outside lines are invading the body of the Stingray, etching the black away from its edges. It’s depleting it on some level, but the rainbow chakras in the spine are strong and illuminated no matter what. Again, I feel this goes back to just not wanting to involve himself in unnecessary drama that is not his own, or of his own making, but currently he has to tiptoe around A LOT of different things. He’s moving strongly, but there’s pollution around him. It doesn’t stop him, it just seems to be quite a concern or something that’s in the back of his mind all the time with this.
Earth Alignment: Wolf — Earth
Here, he has a strong Earth energy supporting his Earth Alignment, again solidifying the prominence of Earth and Water for him in his current state. The Earth Alignment is the first step into the external world within the self. It represents the threshold between the inner self and the world, your soul and your body, and can display the level of groundedness, connection to nature, as well as self-awareness. Here, the Wolf really seems to reflect his position as the oldest and as the first one to reenter the world after enlistment. There’s a lot of responsibility that comes with the Wolf, not just personally within the group, but also just out in the world in general, representing so much as the sole member of BTS available completely to the public right now.
One of the keywords for this card are, “guardian of the family and tribe.” This is where that strong foot is. He’s strong in this, he has a strong backbone, because he knows that even while he is focused on himself and his solo work, he is spearheading the group, he is their representative. I think that avoidance of pollution is the same where he wants to avoid getting involved with drama specifically so that it is not expected that anyone else would be involved as well. There’s a very strong mindfulness here that spreads out from the Horse into the Wolf. It’s a split in his own energy, but one that seems to fan it out rather than divide it and have it operate against itself.
Air Alignment: Phoenix — Spirit
The most interesting bit of his reading for me, the part I was most excited to read through, is his Air alignment. With so much focus on Air energy, communication, and observation, I was curious to see how it would show up in his reading. The Air Alignment refers to conscious level thought processing, patterns of logic, focus, communication, and planning. Here, he has the Phoenix, one of the seven Spirit cards in the deck, which is associated with the Root Chakra.
The Phoenix suggests a rebirth, a rebuilding of the self through communication, expression, or the curation of an image. With how grounded this energy feels, connecting to the Root Chakra, what anchors and supports the spine of the Stingray, it feels like this is the energy that would spur the Horse to run free as fast as it can. I really don’t know what’s on his mind exactly, but something, many things are stimulating his mind, both coming in through observation and being delivered through expression. There’s a lot of movement and speed behind it.
He’s moving very confidently, and everything, as I see it, is guaranteed and sure for him, but there’s an unfortunate space left open for pollution from the outside world, people who may want to throw him off, or even sabotage his efforts for not doing or being exactly what they want him to be. I most certainly will be supporting him as much as I possibly can with his solo endeavors as there’s quite a lot of passion here, and I really do feel that he’s about to take ahold of something quite big for himself soon, and I would love to see him genuinely satisfied and content with his efforts and all of what comes from that effort.
