How do BTS and Ariana See Each Other?
This was a little weird because it wasn’t what I expected to see especially on BTS’ side. For Ariana, she’s seeing BTS as The Fool and is projecting the energy of Glitch.EXE towards them. Glitch is a card about things not being what they appear to be. So, it can be that she thinks they are The Fool, a point of a new beginning, the new thing, and therefore she’s kind of coming at them with Glitch or with hidden motives or something just isn’t quite right. Like what she’s thinking and what she’s saying isn’t necessarily matching up, and it’s intentional. OR!! Or she literally thinks they are The Fool, like too new and not really aware of the game, but upon meeting them she’s like, oh shit, they actually know what they’re doing, it’s not manufactured or whatever. The Fool, in all aspects, is positive as it is recognition of BTS being this innovative entity but there is a sense of separation coming across as there is a lot more significance to The Fool in this deck being a traveler, something that comes and goes.
On BTS’ side, I started with what they were projecting towards her as I thought that might explain the Glitch, and with that, I got the 7 of Swords and the 5 of Swords. The 7 of Swords has to do with someone lying or keeping secrets and traditionally it depicts someone stealing something from another person. The 5 of Swords is about arguments and fighting, similar to the 5 of Wands, in the suit of Swords it’s more focused on verbal exchanges. The 5 of Swords is also unique as it does show one person winning the battle or the argument as they collect the swords of the people who have lost.
There is a collective perception of Ariana within the group as the reversed 3 of Pentacles. Traditionally, the 3 of Pentacles, when upright, is about collaboration on some kind of project where all sides are considered within the process. In reverse, of course, it points to disagreements and a lack of progress, such as what is depicted in the 5 or 7 of Swords. In this deck, the 3 of Pentacles is actually more focused on one person working on multiple projects at once, kind of suggesting a one-sided effort being put in, so with it reversed it’s like there’s one person not doing their part or making it more difficult in some way, and for some reason, this is how Ariana is being viewed in this situation.
So, if they are collaborating, maybe the collaboration itself wasn’t what either side expected it to be or maybe there were some issues with timing or deadlines on one side that caused their work to not be ready in time for album releases. Or maybe there was supposed to be a collaboration but the initial meetings or conversations about it weren’t the best. I honestly have no idea, I really wasn’t expecting to get something like that for them. Especially on BTS’ side since, even when negativity is being projected towards them, they somehow still maintain collective neutrality towards the other side, but here there’s genuine frustration. It doesn’t feel like it’s dwelled on too much, but it’s like the only energy present in this connection right now.
