Card 4 — Death

For those of you that chose Death, you are in a very pivotal moment in your life, the moment before the eruption, right on the precipice of a new phase and form entirely. One of the best and worst things about Death is that it always gives you a choice — will you stay? Or will you go? The choice can be quite difficult especially when you find yourself quite comfortable where you are now, or find it scary to venture into the unknown of a new beginning, but keep in mind that there is a deep inner knowing guiding you and things always fall into place when they need to. Something that comes to mind with this is the idea of a butterfly knowing exactly HOW to fly and WHERE to fly once it emerges from its cocoon… after a bit of time to allow its wings to fully fan out, of course.

In the main reading and commentary, Death was lined up with The Star and represented the deep dive into Scorpio/8th House, or The Underworld. Receiving the Death card here may be showcasing your position in the process of personal healing and release. You may be currently navigating your own fears, insecurities, or heavier traumas in order to move forward. Be aware that this process is coming to an end and while you may have to return to it again in the future, you will do so from a higher position (The Cave) and will have a much easier time initiating a rebirth. You are evolving from this experience.

For those of you who are not consciously engaged in healing or too clear on what big changes could be being presented to you now, Death is a sign for you to enter the shadows and explore your deeper aspects. It can be a heavy experience, especially if you want to work on engaging with, processing, or healing/releasing trauma, so remember it’s never about how fast you can do it, or how well you can do it, it’s about simply becoming more aware of what influences you from the inside out. Remember for your journey, your past does not have to define your future, and the actions of others are not yours to repent for.
