Card 5 — 6 of Swords (rev.)

The reversed 6 of Swords defines a time in a person’s life where they are moving through an intense and life-changing spiritual evolution and with that a shift in perspective and perception of themselves and the world around them. You may be someone who is well into the depths of The Underworld, maybe you’ve already cleared it out and have turned it into The Cave. You are someone with more emotional and self-awareness and you’ve developed enough to be able to see what changes need to be enacted in your life in order to improve your experience and head in the right direction.

The 6 of Swords, along with all of that, can also point to hesitation or fear in enacting those changes or taking up an opportunity. This lines up with the archer who freezes in place in spite of that clear target. In spite of everything you know and understand now, in spite of how clear the solutions may seem to you, you may be struggling to bring yourself into a position or mindset that would allow you to move forward. It may be beneficial to zero in on what is making you hesitate. Are you afraid of the loss in failure? Are you afraid of the change that comes with success? Do you just not trust yourself to follow through? If you’re already in The Cave, you may need to spend just a bit more time there to help yourself gain more trust and faith in yourself and your capability. You wouldn’t have gotten this far if you weren’t meant to go all the way.
