Details: The Past Life Reading is an intuitive and channeled reading that pinpoints the most prominent past life that is currently influencing an individual’s current incarnation.
Energy Reading
Before I even got into the full reading, I was already feeling a big wave of this extremely stimulated, pressurized but very positive energy kind of flying around over everything. It was focused more in the upper arms and the chest, and it was just an incredibly exciting feeling, almost like an adrenaline rush where it’s so strong parts of your body start to go a bit numb. Just yesterday was when Hoseok did his first solo performance at Lollapalooza, and this kind of energy is connected to that. It’s very exciting, overstimulated, overwhelming, but incredibly positive.
This is really interesting in relation to what came out for his energy reading with the Strength card over The Empty Room. The Empty Room card is exactly what it sounds like, it’s an empty room, however, it can be described in two different ways based on context and perception. On one end it can be representative of this overwhelming sense of entrapment and nothingness, being blocked off from everything around you and having no creative energy at all. On the other end, The Empty Room can describe the Universe in its entirety, this sense of infinite, limitless potential, and continuous expansion.
It seems like, right now, Hoseok is really recognizing his own power as an individual and what he has to offer in terms of his ability to create, perform, and be seen on a bigger scale. The Empty Room with Strength really feels like this state of being where there is just no cap on his ego, his sense of identity, his creativity, his performance, or his potential overall. Then having all of that fall into The Lovers, a space of higher alignment, and this kind of communicative cohesiveness within the self really shows that he’s on his higher path here. I really do think that he was heading that way the whole time, but his first big solo performance is what really solidified this step-up into this position for him, and I would assume that is why that excited but overwhelmed energy is still lingering for him. It’s literally holding him at a higher vibration.
The infinite feeling of Strength over The Empty Room bleeds out into the Ace of Pentacles on the left and the Page of Cups on the right. Both sides suggest new opportunities, ideas, and pathways opening up for him, giving him more room to expand both creatively and in terms of finance and recognition. Again, it’s like there’s no lid on this ever-expanding potential and it's reaching all aspects of his life right now, both internally and externally.
The Inner World
Before we get into the main reading, I do want to mention that I did see Hoseok’s inner world, a very clear and interesting picture of it. It was pretty dark, kind of stormy and the “entryway” was at the edge of this cliff, looking out of a layer of storm clouds that covered the surface of an ocean. To enter the inner space, there were these individual handles made of rope that acted as a kind of ladder down the side of the cliff and into the water.
Down below there was this giant coral forest with lights set up designating specific paths through different areas of this forest. Hoseok himself was wearing this orange diving suit with one of those big helmet things that people wear when they want to walk on the ocean floor and whatnot. He never said anything, just walked pretty far ahead and just kept to himself.
Further inside there was this structure, just a room really, that had computers and monitors set up along with various machines that seemed to all be monitoring, scanning, and recording various areas of the coral forest and other parts of this ocean. The ocean itself seemed to represent his own deeper subconscious mind, and he is quite literally sitting inside of it and studying it, running experiments on it, and working to understand how it all flows together. This lines up so well with what came through for him in the BTS OT7 2022/2023 Outlook reading, especially with all the Water energy and deeper exploration of the self alongside personal and spiritual development.
He seems to really be in the depths of things and on this higher level, closely connected to his soul, this aspect of himself is not only processing and trying to understand pieces of this lifetime, he seems to have “collected data” on other lifetimes and is feeding them into different areas of the coral forest in order to see how things change or evolve. It’s very interesting.
I was actually kind of afraid to look around because the room itself was pretty small and with all these machines and wires going everywhere, I really thought I was going to step on something or yank a wire out by mistake, so I ended up just asking if there was a past life that I could look at, whichever one is the most influential to the current lifetime right now. He never said anything, but he walked over to what looked like this dark blue treasure chest, like a plastic one, and inside there was what looked to be black sand and small, shiny black rocks. He gestured to it, being kind of like, “there, go ahead.”
As I got closer to it, the rocks and sand started sinking toward the center, then falling through a hole in the bottom, spinning like water going down a drain. Then, I just kind of fell in and went down the drain too.
The Past Life Visuals
I was taken straight into this past life, a first-person perspective. In this past life, Hoseok was a woman and in the timeframe that I was shown, she would have been in her late teens or very early twenties. She was in this cell, or what looked like a dungeon-type place, but there was this open skylight that went very far up. It was humid and there was water dripping in, she was wet like it had been raining a while before.
There was so much confusion to this image. There was definitely fear and panic, but mostly it was confusion, there was just a lot of stuff that wasn’t clicking, it didn’t make sense to her as to why she was there. I think to some degree a language barrier caused a lot of this confusion.
What I was seeing while inside the cell was coming in like flashes. Someone brought her food at some point, it was bread and some kind of liquid that definitely wasn’t just water, tasted gross. She was screaming through the bars for someone to let her out, to tell her what is going on, she kept asking for something that I didn’t understand, like asking for a specific person by their rank or title.
Eventually, this man did come to get her, yanked her out by her arm, and took her towards this flight of stairs that went up to the outside. She passed by four other cells on her way, three of which were occupied with people. One of them was crying and screaming as she passed, but the others were quiet, and there was someone that I think might have been dead inside one of the cells.
Outside was kind of strange. They were on a small island in the middle of the ocean, the water was gray and the air was thick and misty. The ground was laid with stone, creating this kind of platform overtop of these cells underground. There was a short stone wall separating the stone platform from the closest part of the ocean where I assumed the waves would come in. I did think maybe the water did come in and that’s why she was wet and there was water dripping from the open skylight earlier.
There were a lot of men, they looked like soldiers or knights, dressed in armor and some in leather. They had these odd helmets so I couldn’t see their faces at all. Some of them were laughing. There was a structure set up that was for hanging people and when she saw this, the panic set in much more, and it became extremely, extremely uncomfortable and extremely difficult to stay in the meditation on my end. She didn’t try to resist or fight, it felt more like her insides froze but her outsides kept moving.
Two different things popped up in this moment alongside what she was experiencing. A memory popped up of two hands coming together in either a handshake or what could have been a pinky promise, thinking about someone who was very close to her that she had promised to meet up with or who had promised to get her out. There was this aggravation that came with it and this repetitive, low, groaning statement of, “you promised, you promised, you promised.” Based on how this was coming through and what came up in the main reading, I do think there was either someone who had been taken with her, or one of the men who had taken her had promised to help her and her people out of there and ended up not being able to keep that promise.
The other thing that popped up were these “spirits” around the structure which I’m not sure if she could actually see them or if they were just more representative of the fact that there were five people prior to her who she knew had been hanged. The way I was seeing it, there were five black shadows, not shaped like people, just kind of these faded black orbs, about the size of basketballs, hovering around the structure. There was thought around this image that the people who had been hanged, who I believe were her family or people she was extremely close to, were stuck there, stuck to the structure, due to pain, sadness, and anger.
Again, there was a major sense of panic that came in but she wasn’t fighting them, and before everything cut off there was this sense of release but it went much deeper than just a release one might feel when they die. There was a major emotional release as well as this spiritual release that is really difficult to describe. Based on some stuff that came out in the reading, it seemed like this release may have had something to do with forgiveness or an acceptance of the matter at hand, almost like right at the end she said, “you think you’re doing the right thing. You cause so much pain, but you think you’re doing the right thing. And for that, I can not fault you.”
It was hard to understand all at once, and everything was cut off before she was put onto the structure, but that is where and how she died. I wasn’t able to see anything visually before that, however, based on the main reading some things came together. For one, it seemed like this was connected to some kind of act of genocide against indigenous groups, however, it was not clear where she and her people were taken from, where they were brought to, and there was no clear indication of timing in terms of the year or connection to specific major events in history.
She herself was taken with a much smaller group of people, who seemed to be survivors of an attack on their community. She was taken along with others to work and be “converted” in various ways, but then something happened where she and maybe a total of ten or so other people were taken to this island to be imprisoned and then hanged. It was never made clear what exactly happened to cause this and, as I said, her memory or understanding of everything seemed to be very limited based on a language barrier as well.
Main Reading
Usually, this section breaks down the past life that we’re focusing on here into sections based on childhood, teen years, adulthood, and end of life, however, because she was so young when she died, this is more so representative of significant phases within her life rather than designated age ranges. The middle set, the four cards, mark those four phases, while the cards on top represent a higher purpose or an overall energy that moves between these phases. Down below, the tarot cards showcase how these energies showed up physically or could show the most significant experience within that phase.
Starting off, at the beginning of this lifetime, there’s a focus there on The Self alongside Yin, which puts a lot of emphasis on spiritual awareness, a sense of connection with people, nature, and spirituality overall. It was not something that was “practiced” necessarily, but rather it was just part of life, it was a foundational part of her experience. Down below with Justice over the 5 of Cups, there is recognition of the fact that while there were some upsets in the younger years, particularly a loss — feels like a loss of a father and maybe an older sibling — there was an understanding of balance and order to nature. In other words, these losses, although they were grieved, were not looked at as losses. Justice makes it seem like they’re recognized as trades or exchanges like they traded their physical body for a spiritual one, and it was just a part of nature, easier to move through. Along with this, Justice puts her in a higher position, a more mature position, as if she needed to step up for her family or community in those times of loss as well. Her understanding of loss in this way made it easier for her to do so.
The transition from The Self to The Maiden with Serendipity is very interesting as Serendipity literally felt like this major disturbance to the system, a complete breakdown of how things were supposed to play out in the lifetime. The image of Serendipity — a fairy being blown around on a breeze while hanging onto a four-leaf clover — seemed so eerily sinister, as if this great wind came out of nowhere and blew everything into chaos and she just had to go along with it. This is also supplemented by the presence of the 9 of Swords over The Emperor underneath.
Essentially, based on what I saw before the reading, I would assume The Emperor is representative of a King or some other kind of major official or even just a social structure as a whole that was very heavy-handed and commanding. There’s very little compassion to it, almost no thought to it, and I keep hearing this, “there are no hearts here in these people.”
Going from The Self to The Maiden felt kind of gross in the sense that she went from being her Self, her own person, a person of free will and free thought to having to play this role of a maiden, the role of women as defined by The Emperor’s standards. This seemed to give way to the aspect of work, potentially along the lines of slavery, and also seemed to imply matters of assault and sexual abuse as well. This, as the 9 of Swords would suggest, was a very dark and confusing time.
The Maiden flowing into The River is where I personally got confused with things as that feeling of final forgiveness came in even though this doesn’t mark the point of death for her yet. The card's keywords are literally, “acceptance, grace, reflection, and forgiveness.” Very similar to what I felt with Justice, it seemed like she was able to see past the pain and suffering she and her people were being put through but more so out of a need to survive. She needed to almost forgive or give into the situation at hand so that she could navigate it safely and help others stay safe as well.
This is where we get into what I believe to be some kind of promise being made with someone she meets that was meant to help her and her family escape from this. This very well could have been a deal, through The River in a way, to conform and assimilate to the systems of The Emperor in order to ensure her and her family’s safety.
This connects to the phase represented by Soul Mates with this particular person being represented by the Knight of Swords and the 7 of Cups. In a very literal way, it was like the Knight was presenting the 7 of Cups, all of these conditions or rules, again very confused or overwhelmed by it, all in exchange for ensuring her safety. While this is governed by Soul Mates, and this man was a soulmate, this did not seem to be a romantic relationship.
Moving through from that, if you were to imagine all of the cups in the 7 of Cups being conditions or requirements, rules or regulations that she had to follow in order to ensure her safety, the 4 of Cups would show her accepting some if not all of them except for one that was shoved in her face the most. From what I was seeing, the one rule or requirement that she refused to accept had to do with religion and spirituality, she absolutely refused to convert on the basis of religion. She did absolutely everything else but her spiritual beliefs and understanding of the world which, at that point especially, was what kept her alive and kept her going, was not something she was willing to turn over, she wouldn’t even want to pretend.
The 4 of Cups is alongside the Page of Wands, this firm and independent, although small and vulnerable in this context, energy, which really puts forth that attachment to The Self, to personal identity, and the unwillingness to conform or abandon something that was so foundational to who she was and what she knew about the world.
This falls under Tick-Tock which, in this context, feels like limited space and time being given to her in order to actually conform or accept the conditions of the 7 of Cups offered up by that soulmate in the Knight of Swords. It seems like the deal was made of the 7 of Cups, but the promise to do what he could to get her and her family away from danger was made over the 4 of Cups, presumably after it was decided they would be killed for not converting.
Even though these phases don’t showcase the point of death or the end of life, Tick-Tock, the 4 of Cups, and the Page of Wands feel like a “sealed fate” once that choice was made. And again, in the end, there was this acceptance and forgiveness that came through again for the people who had hurt her, which seemed to stem from this understanding of people doing what they believe is right for the benefit of themselves and their families, seeing it as something she would do, although she couldn’t understand the need to cause so much pain in order to do it.
How He Saw Himself: The Chariot
State of The Soul: The Sun
In this past life, she saw herself as The Chariot, as someone who was very focused on a personal path, again carrying The Self all through the lifetime, and remaining very committed and focused on a personal calling and staying true to what she saw of the world. Out of body, on a soul level, Hoseok at this time was represented by The Sun. This goes into clarity of mind, understanding, and a positive or optimistic outlook being applied to the overall experience.
This would have definitely gone into Justice as well as that ability to forgive or see the good in people even in such a horrific situation.
How Others Saw Him: The Lovers + The Hierophant (rev.)
How He Was Meant To Be Seen: Seven of Cups (rev.)
In this lifetime, she was seen by others as The Lovers with the reversed Hierophant. This is very on point with what’s come up so far as the reversed Hierophant would suggest a denial of tradition and religion or external rule, while The Lovers goes into personal alignment and personal connection to the Earth, nature, and higher power.
With that, in terms of how she was meant to be seen, there is the reversed Seven of Cups, reflecting the 7 of Cups in the previous section which related to the terms and conditions of conversion and assimilation. In this sense, it seems that she was meant to deny all of it completely, but in this case, she did end up choosing to accept some of them for the sake of safety but did deny the spiritual aspect of that conversion.
The Goal or Purpose of This Past Life: The Fool + Five of Wands (rev.)
What Was Achieved or Accomplished: Two of Cups
With this particular past life, the main purpose or goal of it is represented here by The Fool and the Five of Wands in reverse. This is also very interesting because it almost comes off like this was a designated challenge as if Serendipity and the disruption caused by The Emperor were put into play in order for Hoseok to learn how to maintain his own path forward like to stick to his personal perspective, his own identity, and not allow anyone or anything to throw him off his path. This was like a crash course in maintaining personal identity and sovereignty.
The reversed Five of Wands’ description really lays it out:
I think, especially with The Fool, this lifetime was an active preparation for another, or many others, in which Hoseok would have to step onto a very self-defined, self-governed path in order to reach his absolute full potential. And in that sense, he would have to have a very deeply understood awareness of the importance of embracing his individuality, his unique perspective, qualities, and abilities, to live by them and express them like a deep spiritual understanding. Again, this actually goes really well with what he had in the 2022/2023 Outlook reading in terms of a deep self-understanding and discovery leading to an internal transformation that would line up or be mirrored by an external transformation as well.
There’s such an urgency to this as well, that something so harsh would have to occur in order to get the message across on a soul level, enough so that it could be carried over and held onto in a separate lifetime.
With this, the Two of Cups comes out showing what was actually accomplished in this past life. This suggests that, technically, the main goal was not accomplished because she didn’t, you know, intentionally sacrifice her friends and family in order to maintain her own identity, but she did hang onto her sense of self within her spiritual belief, perception, and manner or operation in the world which was very foundation so that counts as a win. The Two of Cups more so represents an additional lesson that was not planned out, but was taken on and was, is, and will continue to be utilized in various lifetimes.
The Two of Cups here represents the compassion that Hoseok experienced in this past life for people, including the people who did wrong and caused pain. The ability to understand and forgive, or to live beyond what is said and done to you out of hatred is what has carried over. This, especially in his current lifetime, is a skill that would actually help to maintain a sense of self-rule as the thoughts, opinions, beliefs, and actions of other people against him, especially in the public eye, would not deter him from continuing on doing what he wants to do as long as he believes in and has a very strong emotional and mental connection to what he wants to do or create.
Of course, it is definitely coming through, as if there’s a little sticky note on the forehead of his soul that says, “you don’t need to give forgiveness to people who try to kill you.”
Most Significant Soul Connection: Knight of Swords (rev.)
What Was Gained From This Connection: Temperance
Again, the most significant soul connection, represented here by the reversed Knight of Swords, links back to the Knight of Swords under Soul Mates in the first section of the reading. The reversed state here is clarifying that this Soul Mate had a specific purpose to fulfill, a specific job, but that job was not able to be accomplished on his end. Again, this lifetime was like a challenge, a crash course in maintaining self-rule. This soulmate was meant to help do that, meant to help liberate her, but she would have had to sacrifice quite a lot in order to do that. Basically, it was like there was an option between sacrificing The Self temporarily for her safety and then being taken away from that place, taken back to The Self, OR maintaining The Self now and risking her safety.
So… technically both options would have accomplished the goal, just at varying degrees on Hoseok’s part, but this soul mate here could only do his job through one of them.
What was gained from this connection, however, is represented by Temperance which registers here as self-rule from the inside out, so holding onto those inner spiritual foundations and her overall identity. He was the one to present the 7 of Cups and she weighed those cups from the inside out, deciding for herself what she was willing to take on and what she needed to deny.
Tools, Lessons, or Influences From This Past Life: Universal Love
Goal or Outlook From This Past Life: Turtle Spirit — Slow and steady wins the race.
Something For Him To Remember: Full Moon in Capricorn — The end of a tough cycle approaches.
One of the major lessons carried over from this lifetime, represented by Universal Love, connects back to the Two of Cups, that sense of equality and compassion for others as well as the expectation of compassion from others. There’s this matter of respect here as well, this effort to maintain integrity and sovereignty of his own while helping others do the same. Reflection, equality, compassion, and understanding are big factors here acting as a foundation for self-rule and self-governed operation.
A goal or outlook in this current lifetime that extends from this past life is represented by the Turtle Spirit, which says, “slow and steady wins the race.” This connects back to Tick-Tock and the finality of decisions and actions made that led to a short life. In the context of her current lifetime, this refers to the structuring, maintenance, and operation of creativity and self-expression overall. He would have a very strong sense to be as careful and as particular as possible with his work, but never to the point where he limits or second-guesses his choices, especially if it’s something he feels very strongly about or believes in very deeply. He would never just be handing you a song or an idea, he would be handing over the entirety of a vision, a piece of his soul reflected onto or into something of his creation, and because of that he has to take time in making sure that reflection is as clear as possible, representing himself on a very deep level.
Finally, if this reading was given to Hoseok personally, the last card represents something he should remember or take from this past life. With this, he has the Full Moon in Capricorn which says, “the end of a tough cycle approaches.” This registered as reassurance that the lessons of this past life have been well accessed and put to use, therefore suggesting that he has moved beyond the point of repetitive cycles or major roadblocks, setbacks, or opposition to his personal creation and self-expression. Much like what was shown in the energy reading at the beginning with Strength over The Empty Room, he is entering a new phase of his life where he is completely unlimited and continually expanding based on his choice to deny restriction, conformity, and assimilation in this lifetime. It’s pretty amazing.
That’s all I have for this one. Thank you so much for reading! :)
