Details: The Elemental Alignment reading is designed to showcase an individual's energetic alignment and balance with the elements, then compare it to that of the Higher Self's alignments.
Before I can get into the energy and main readings here, I have to make a few notes on Taylor’s birth chart because it was pretty interesting. It’s very simple, the energies movie in very precise ways, but the way that it has fleshed itself out and activated over the years is pretty incredible.
This is the chart that came up for her, but since the birth time is unconfirmed here we’ll just ignore the house placements. What caught my eye the most was that massive web of opposition there between Capricorn (Uranus, Mercury, Neptune, Saturn) and Cancer (Chiron, Jupiter, Moon). Opposition = Opportunity. Opposition is an opportunity to create balance, but it requires a very conscious level of awareness of the self, the issues at hand, and a willingness to take responsibility for how things play out going forward, how you choose to see things, how you choose to react, and what you choose to put energy into. Out of all the signs, Capricorn and Cancer can be the most difficult pair to balance in a real-life, everyday, conscious way. In its most simple form it’s balancing home life and work life, on a deep level it’s balancing the anchor of the roots and the pull of the sprout that demands to reach as high into the sky as possible. Energetically speaking, it’s balancing the natural flow of energy, nature, emotion, creativity, and freedom, and the regulated and more controlled aspects of industrialization, performance, and governance.
Considering the Moon, Chiron, and Jupiter being together in the sign of Cancer there’s a very clear sense of emotional vulnerability and expansion, or an over-exaggeration of these emotions and vulnerabilities, which then lends to her own healing or processing. I mean, it’s literally her songwriting process laid out step-by-step in her chart.
Then, crossing the bridge there into Capricorn, she has all these access points for very direct and clear communication (Mercury) with the world, the public, and her audience (Uranus), alongside the ability to dream and bring those dreams to life foundationally, inherently (Neptune), as well as the ability to capitalize on it through very structured and dedicated work (Saturn).
Her North Node being in Aquarius further drives that need for expression or connection to the world at large, however, her South Node being in Leo paints an even better picture of personal development and understanding of her own identity. For Taylor, if and when she was operating in her South Node, she would have desired public favor and attention alongside that clear emotional expression, but her ego (potentially through unprocessed, unhealed insecurities) would have forced her to push parts of herself down in certain areas, shrink or become quiet with certain things in order to maintain favor. This brings to mind bits in Miss Americana where she talked about her struggles with an eating disorder as well as her prior choices to remain quiet about politics. Both of these things are something she has overcome and pushed past quite strongly it would seem and has fully embraced that Aquarius North Node, this sense of honesty and authenticity that supports the overall balance between Cancer and Capricorn for her.
I don’t know if any of this will be relevant to the rest of the reading, but it was something I took note of and wanted to yammer about for a bit.
Before the main reading, I did a quick energy reading for her just to get an idea of where her foundations are within her core. Not so surprisingly, her core holds roots for her soul, as in she is in full alignment between the conscious, subconscious, and unconscious aspects of her awareness. It’s like The Lovers card in full bloom, everything connected and creating conduits for very bold and expansive creation — very Sagittarius of her.
The top cards, Discernment and Tantric Journey play off of each other and reflect a higher state of mind, or perhaps the state of her Higher Self which, as I said, is integrated and fully aligned with her conscious state. Discernment pretty directly states that it “has to do with our inner guide — the higher part of us that is closely connected to Source and can look at things from a perspective of wisdom, maturity, experience, integrity, compassion, and purpose.” — LON
It’s an enlightened, but grounded perspective, one well carved out and integrated through experience and the ability to be critical of one’s self, questioning one’s own perception and perspective in order to bring to question and gain insight on as many different perspectives as possible. From here, this builds into a very clear awareness accompanied by a healthy level of detachment that leads to perfect discernment in the conscious space.
Tantric Journey reflects Discernment in essence, it carries that same aspect of expanded consciousness and awareness through self-awareness, inner work, and deep processing, however, Tantric Journey itself is inherently broader. This really makes me think of the opposition (and balance) between Gemini and Sagittarius, but specifically those two energies at their absolute highest level of development. Discernment is Gemini with this clear and somewhat clinical space of observation and awareness of the external through the looking glass of the internal space, while Tantric Journey is Sagittarius, this infinite space of inner exploration and awareness, creating deeply profound journeys and discoveries within one’s own being. Of course, with the idea that Discernment occurs through a looking glass of the inner awareness, the more Tantric Journey expands, the more that worldview expands. Big Jupiter vibes all around.
Following this, the next three cards in the middle represent potential conduits through which these higher influences actually flow into the conscious space for Taylor. She has the Sun, Scorpio, and the Full Moon. Her Sun is in Sagittarius, her Moon is going to be pretty charged up if it is in Cancer (time could affect positioning), and if her rising sign is actually Scorpio, that would come through pretty clearly. She, obviously, does carry The Mark of The Millenial, otherwise known Pluto in Scorpio. More than anything, while the Sun and Moon here represent conscious and subconscious conduits of insight, again reflecting Discernment and Tantric Journey specifically, Scorpio here feels more like the ability and willingness to experience sheddings, or many “deaths” and rebirths that allow her to grow. It’s like an infinite process of a baby bird breaking out of an egg, only to grow bigger and realize it has to break out of yet another egg, and then another, and another.
Just as Scorpio (death) flows into Sagittarius (rebirth), there is a need for the reborn to return again to Scorpio once they’ve made the full rounds through the zodiac in order to continue the upward spiral of personal development.
On the bottom, with the tarot cards, this layout ended up being absolutely perfect in terms of how this full picture was coming together. In the very center there she has Justice, that point of balance and higher awareness, a sense of control mixed with fluidity and receptivity. It literally is a meeting point, a centerpiece between Capricorn and Cancer, Gemini and Sagittarius, Discernment and Tantric Journey, internal and external, self and other.
On either side of Justice, there are these focal points that move externally and internally. On the left side, there is a focus on the 9 of Pentacles leading into the Queen of Pentacles. The 9 of Pentacles is abundance and independence, home girl is rich rich and that’s how she likes it, that’s how she wants it, that’s how she built it, and that’s how it will remain. Her money and build-up of it (very Capricorn/Saturn/10th House) is extremely important, but so too is being able to do something good with it. The Queen of Pentacles nurtures herself in order to be able to nurture others. She spreads it around, but she always makes sure that her WANTS and NEEDS are well met and maintained first, just as we all should.
On the right side, she has The Chariot leading into the Knight of Wands. The Chariot always carries such strong Sagittarius vibes for me, but definitely, the more developed version that lends to a higher calling and understanding of one’s own higher purpose. The path that the chariot moves along is one of destiny, the person inside the chariot is focused and determined to reach their goal or destination because they feel that sense of purpose and calling so deeply. This leading to the Knight of Wands, a card in which the sense of having a mission, of needing to complete something or bring something to life is matched with an insane amount of energy, willpower, and confidence to actually make it work, is kind of insane, but considering Taylor’s work ethic and continuous ability to level up and keep going, it’s not surprising at all.
Current State of Core Energy:
Dragonfly — Air (rev.)
When upright, the Dragonfly is described as a master of light, illusion, and the mind. With a strong balance of Water and Air energy, there’s a lot of whimsy and dream-like qualities to this energy, but it is well managed and can be quite productive. When reversed, however, the mind is a bit scattered, a bit too caught up in where dreams meet reality, and thus can create a sense of being overwhelmed or overstimulated. I think of it as the difference between frolicking in a field and that one scene in Snow White (the original) where she’s running through the dark woods and starts seeing all the trees and animals as these monsters because of how scared she is.
For Taylor, this doesn’t seem to be anything quite as dramatic or negative. More so, she’s just a very busy lady in a very creative business, in the middle of a massive world tour, creating albums (both old and new), all while moving through the motions of her personal and public life. It almost feels like she’s doing perfectly well in spite of her own capacity. Anyone else in the world would crack under the kind of pressure she’s under, but because of all of what we’ve seen in the previous energy reading and what we see in her chart, she is quite literally built to withstand this kind of chaos. Hell, she thrives in.
Something that I am feeling with this is a strong wave of excitement, but the kind of excitement where you don’t know quite how to take it all in or process it so your mind goes blank, and you just kind of feel everything in your body. Physically it’s a bit disorienting, but you can mentally push past it and keep everything together.
Higher Self Core Alignment:
Sea Serpent — Spirit
Chakra Association: Sacral Chakra
The Higher Self Core Alignment shows what energy the Higher Self may be trying to push down into the core in order to assist in the current state or to initiate a new phase entirely. Here, the Sea Serpent, one of seven Spirit cards in this deck, seems to be a prompt for recentering rather than anything to shift out of the current state. Basically, the Sea Serpent is looking at the Dragonfly like, “girly, you need to reset the system before your circuits fry!”
The Sea Serpent is associated with the Sacral Chakra, the space of personal and willful creation, often a conduit of deep emotional expression and processing. What comes to mind with this is a need for an outlet, or a few more outlets in order to drain some of that energy that I was feeling as overwhelming excitement that causes your mind to go blank. While she is creating new work, her current tour and her re-recordings, as well as Midnights which was described as a journey through past nights of her own, create a spiraling effect where old emotions are meeting new success, new recognition, new states of being. It’s like this fast back and forth between Cancer and Capricorn in her chart, generating a lot of heat, a lot of vibration, but it’s not being released from her body as well as it could.
Even working on a new album doesn’t seem to be enough, she needs a few more grounded and perhaps completely brand new creative outlets to release some of this energy. Certainly, nothing bad is going to happen if she doesn’t, it’s just one of those things where she could burn herself out and end up needing to take a break that is much longer than what she herself is okay with considering how much she loves to work, create, and perform.
Water Alignment:
Fox — Earth
This placement here may show exactly how Taylor is able to maintain a level head and a clear vision as the reversed Dragonfly. The Water Alignment reflects inner foundations, the very base of a person’s being where their emotions, creativity, and intuition flow freely. With this strong Earth energy, carrying a bit of Fire with it, it feels like a powerhouse dam that is generating quite a lot of electricity as the water flows through it. There are two aspects here that are standing out to me with this.
On one end, there’s the water that is being held back and pressurized, which is that overwealming feeling of the reversed Dragonfly, the point where dreams meet reality and things are great but almost too exciting. This water is being held back, pressurized, but is allowed to slip through by way of this very small opening that is directed toward something specific. I think this goes back into the idea of needing more outlets, more avenues of release with these heighted emotions and creativity.
The second thing to focus on is the dam itself, these external, earthy, physical containers that actually hold the water together, keep it from overflowing or just bleeding out into the land around it. This is representative of a strong and stable support system, very close friends and family around at all times, that may not be able to take the pressure off or sheild her from what she’s experiencing, but can certainly give her space, time, and reason to slow down, breathe, and enjoy it.
Fire Alignment:
Owl — Air
The Fire Alignment can show a person’s center of action, their internal spark, rooted in their Water Alignment, which gives them the energy and confidence to move forward with something or everything. It can be a note of a person’s passion and active creativity, representing the bridge that can take the deeper internal vision and inspiration and bring it into reality. Here, for Taylor, the Owl represents something all-encompassing.
The Owl is Air energy carrying a very refined and stable Water energy with it that allows for its higher wisdom and instinct to merge seamlessly with its keen intuition. Just based on the description of this card alone, it’s clear to me that this represents all of what is causing the Dragonfly to be so invigorated to the point where it’s almost too much excitement, too much energy to hold. The majority of her core is taken by her Fire Alignment, fueled by Air rooted in Water. It’s really no wonder at all that she is experiencing an astronomical amount of success all while touring and releasing so much music.
For reference, here’s the description of this card:
Earth Alignment:
Vulture — Air (rev.)
This is pretty interesting as this placement here seems to reflect the “mindless” feeling of the Dragonfly. The Water and Fire Alignments reflect the overstimulation and elation, and here, the reversed Vulture creates this sense of autopilot in a way where she’s moving through motions but may not be fully grounded or taking everything in. The Earth Alignment itself is the most externalized part of someone’s energy and can reflect their level of groundedness, connection to the outside world, and connection to and sense of themselves as a person.
Upright, the Vulture reminds me a lot of the Death card in the Rider-Waite deck. It’s seen as something negative right off the bat, something scary that you need to avoid, but really it’s just their to help, there to clean up messes after the party is over. In that sense, the Grim Reaper, Death, doesn’t actually kill anyone, they show up after someone has died in order to help them along to the afterlife. Just that same, the Vulture doesn’t kill, it’s much more likely to scavenge, clean the bones of a carcass that was already rotting and potentially going to waste. The Vulture is described as a “guardian and purifier, necessary for rebalance,” which brings me again to Death and its connection to Scorpio, the process of shedding, and experiencing a rebirth.
There’s a bit of conflict here where it feels like, in its reversed position, Taylor may be denying a rebirth or seeing herself as unable to change or let go of the past in spite of an opportunity to spring forward into a new state of being. This may be as simple as her being focused on her re-recordings and the whole concept of The Eras Tour, perhaps, in a sense, spreading herself too thin between said Eras, or it could be more complicated. On a deeper level, related to the Earth Alignment’s reflection of self-perception, she may feel that she can’t be reborn again, she can’t make something new or be something completely new again, at least not without completing what she’s started — her re-recordings.
Again, it’s very interesting. It’s making me think that while on a higher level, she has all the space in the world to be reborn, to redefine herself right now, she is choosing to bring closer to her past self first, to tie up all the loose ends before she really breaks into something completely different. And perhaps that is where she’ll find more of those necessary outlets when the time is right for her.
Air Alignment:
Crow — Air
The Air Alignment can show a person’s conscious level thought process, manner of communication, and area of focus. Similar to the Fire Alignment, it represents a bridge between the internal and external, specifically between the outside world and the Water Alignment. What is observed externally through the Air Alignment can influence creative, emotional, and intuitive processes in the Water Alignment. From there, this energy of the Water Alignment is shot back out, expressed in some form through the Fire Alignment, which bursts to life in the Earth Alignment where the Air Alignment can observe it again from a new angle.
The Crow shares very similar qualities to the Owl and here they seem to reflect each other quite nicely. Both of them are highly observant and combine intuition and instinct very well. The major difference here is that while the Owl flies high above and keeps a bigger picture in mind with what it observes, the Crow is more hyper-focused on the specifics. It lingers in the shadows and has tremendous skills at uncovering what has been hidden away, whether it be internal and personal, or something belonging to someone else. There are no secrets to be kept here.
What really caught my attention was a piece of this card’s description that says, “It is said that the Crow holds within its mind’s eye the three realities: past, present, and future.” This seems relevant to what I was seeing with the Vulture. It’s everything all at once being processed at the same time — Death, Rebirth, and the Infinity in between. Her conscious mind is quite literally everywhere, and this is reflected as well in the Dragonfly.
Overall, Taylor really seems to have an unlimited amount of energy and ability to expand beyond comprehension, breaking past her own perceived limitations with ease and completely annihilating at restrictions or setbacks anyone else tries to put on her. She’s a master of creative force, personal alignment, and without a doubt, in my oh-so-professional opinion, she is a perfect example of what can happen when commune with yourself, do the inner work, and make moves on your own foundations with self-reliance and self-trust, creatively maneuvering around obstacles and detours rather than bending and breaking to them.
That is all I have for this one, thank you so much for reading!
