Before I got into the reading, I was just focusing on his core projection as well as his core state to see if I got any strong visuals that could be of use or show something significant. The only thing that I actually saw was this spinning ball of light that was spiraling in on itself, and as it did, it would morph from one shape into another. I made a note of this as being related to self-transformation, but in the actual energy reading, I saw that this aspect of transformation is something that he projects towards other people rather than something he purely puts toward himself.

The references to the Sun both here (the spinning ball looked like the Sun at one point), and in the energy reading made me think that the transformation is mostly towards the conscious mind, mostly towards awareness and perception.

So, yeah, first card out for the energy reading was The Sun. This is showing his most prominent projection which lines up with what I was seeing in or around his core. There’s a certain kind of duality here though where I was seeing Baekhyun as both the little kid and the actual sun in the image. There’s this one side that’s very grounded, literally has his feet on the ground and his head out of the clouds, but that’s the more carefree and open side, the child. Then on the other side, with the sun, he’s in a higher state of mind, he’s holding more awareness, his perception is very broad, but this is the side that is more authoritative or in control and mindful.

The Sun.jpg

In the image of The Sun, there is a heap of Sunflowers behind the child and in front of the Sun. I saw this as being the line of separation between the carefree child and the more serious Sun. Specifically, I was seeing each head of a flower as the head of a person, as a member of the audience. I suppose it would make sense with The Sun that his more controlled state, his more self-aware state would be the one in which he is on stage or in front of a crowd, literally having to project this certain image and perform properly.

There’s definitely significance to the fact that from the two perspectives in the image, the Sun can see the Sunflowers, or the audience very clearly, but the little kid has his back turned to them — yet, the Sunflowers are actually facing the child. It’s like in spite of the performance of the Sun, the more serious nature and the very vibrant expression of that specific image, the audience still prefers the open and free side, the more personal side, the side he seems to reserve for himself. It’s very interesting.

So, between the two sides, there is a lot of creative energy because you have that strong performance and force of the Sun moving behind the very imaginative and exploratory child. They definitely feed into each other, they are not opposing forces at all.

The 4 of Wands supplemented The Sun showing that this energy itself, as a whole, is something that creates structures, it is very foundational energy, as in, anything can be built on top of it. He can build on his own ideas or his own energy, or other people, like the other guys in EXO, or maybe producers in the company can also build off of his ideas. He projects a lot of “innovation”within the 4 of Wands.

As for where this energy is being projected the most, he had the “fallen” Queen of Swords. She came out sideways, and usually, I don’t read sideways card, but this one felt very solid in that state. On the other side is the fully upright Ace of Swords, and between this card and the Queen is the 3 of Cups. Quite literally this seems to be showing a brainstorming session.

As I was seeing it here, the 3 of Cups is showing multiple people exchanging and showcasing Cups, Water, creativity, and inspiration. It’s a very happy and open space, but it feels more private, it feels like this space, in particular, is where the little kid can run around and have fun — this is why the authoritative, very logical and intellectual Queen of Swords is laying down. It’s like, he’s still in business mode, he’s still doing work, but anything that could restrict his creative flow within the 3 of Cups, such as the thought of the image of the Sun, or overthinking how the audience would perceive their work, is laid down.

Then once everything has been laid out and all ideas have been passed around, that’s when the Ace of Swords comes up. It literally rises above the 3 of Cups, connecting it to the structure-forming 4 of Wands, which links it back to the Sun, which connects to the child, which turns the Queen on her side, which brings him back to that creative workspace in the 3 of Cups. He’s working in a cycle, I guess.

The Ace of Swords is interesting because it still doesn’t feel like authoritative energy even though it’s spearheading the process. It’s like he has a lot of authority and control, but he very specifically chooses not to wave it around. The image I had for this was some kind of military official leading other Knights into war with a raised sword versus the image of a military official leading other Knights through a dark and unfamiliar forest with a raised sword. One side has a very strong intention to lead and command, raising the sword in an offensive manner, while the other side has a strong intention of guiding the others, raising the swords only as a matter of defense against potential danger.

Basically, it’s like he has the full ability to lead and command a creative process all the way from the point of inspiration to the final physical product, but he reserves that full force for some reason. I feel like his authority is more towards himself, like the Sun holds its composure, keeps a straight face, and also watches over the child below. None of that authority leaves that personal headspace.

That seems to be what is shown as well between the reversed Justice card and The Hermit, a set that came out for how this projected energy or core state actually manifests on a conscious or physical level.

Justice is a very conscious card, I think of it as being the more externally oriented version of Temperance which stands to balance the inner world. Justice is associated with Libra and represents the highest form of Libra where connection and understanding is not found through mirroring and assimilating but through awareness and acceptance of differences. It’s very objective in its judgment as it sets out to balance and even things out between people and social structures.

Overall, Justice is very externally oriented. Its focus is on other people, its authority is put towards other people, but The Hermit is much more internally focused. The Hermit’s authority, self-restraint, and discipline are all for him and him alone. The only external aspect of The Hermit is his time observing the world around him, observing how other people connect to each other, how they connect to the world and nature, but he turns it all back on himself in order to understand his place in all of it.

However, the symbolism of The Hermit’s lantern, that guiding light, takes me back to that image of the military official leading other Knights through a dark forest. It’s not so much about commanding them, but just showing them the way, laying down ideas, laying down potentials, shining a light on them and saying, “this is an option too.” That could be the reversed energy of Justice as well where rather than final decisions being made, he is more likely to present options externally for others to work within that creative space.

And finally, as I mentioned, The Magician came out with Death in reverse to show that the original image that I was seeing of the spinning ball of light was not in reference to self-transformation, but was showing his projected energy towards transformation, his ability to change things externally.

Death is usually very personal. In my experience, it usually comes out for initiations of personal rebirths, internal transformations, deep soul transformations, but The Magician is all about the manipulation and transformation of the external world through energetic alignment and control.

All three images show these objects of guidance and control being held up — the sword, the lantern, and the wand. There’s an aspect of putting things on display, almost passively holding them up and showing them while in this personal space. The only time where there is no passivity is when he is fully the Sun, the Sun in the sky with the serious expression, fully in his performance and fully putting on a show for the audience. That is where his authority is, but that authority is only projected towards himself, the rest of it is held up as an option for everyone else.

The Reading:

Spider.jpg

Current State of Core Energy: Spider — Earth

This is literally so spot-on with the energy reading I can hardly stand it. Even the image of the Spider, with how the web spirals out around it in these rainbow colors is very similar to the ball of light I was seeing in the very beginning. Just so you know how on point this is I’ll include the full description of the card:

Creator of prosperity through life’s work, dharma — The Spider is an ingenious creator. Its greatest gift is weaving the thread of dharma into a vast, intricate web that supports the Spider (and those around it) both financially and spiritually. It is hard work, but the Spider neither tires nor becomes impatient. This card reminds us creativity is everywhere. Be process-oriented rather than result-oriented, and soon your “work” becomes like the weaving of a magical, priceless tapestry. Abundance follows.”
— Kim Krans, The Wild Unknown: Animal Spirit Guidebook

Especially with that association with Earth energy lining up with his Taurus Sun, this really brings up a lot of self-awareness and an independent feel in his energy. It’s very self-contained but, as I said before, it’s not restricted in any way. There’s a lot of self-control but there’s also a lot of freedom and neither side really imposes on the other, they actually play into each other really well. I suppose, in a way, this could be shown by how the seemingly sporadic and random display of the web actually serves a specific and necessary purpose, such as capturing food. There’s freedom in the process of creation, but the creation itself is intended for something specific and that’s where the grounded energy is.

I was also really focused on how tightly spun the web is around the Spider in spite of the fact that there is that wide open space right underneath of its body, and how wide and loose the web gets the further out it goes. This played into the idea of his authority being on himself, but when it comes to other people, especially in those creative processes, he doesn’t hold the authority, he holds optional guidelines. There’s a lot more variation to size and overall structure to the outer parts of the web, but on the inside around the Spider, it’s is tight and uniform. However, there is that space of pure freedom in the very center where there are no guidelines at all.

So, basically, the child from the image of The Sun lives within that blank space underneath the Spider’s body in a private and personal area. The part of the web that surrounds that blank spot, the tightly wound and uniform part of the web, belongs to the actual Sun, the projected image, the performance, what he chooses to display of himself to the public. Then everything else beyond that is the Ace of Swords, The Hermit, and The Magician holding up their optional guidance and insight.

Tiger Reversed.jpg

Elemental Water Alignment: Tiger — Fire (rev.)

I have no idea how to explain this properly. It makes sense in my head visually, but when I try to put it into words it just starts going all over the place, so bear with me and my nonsense.

First off, there ain’t no Water energy here. There is, but there isn’t. It’s like it’s being masked or contained, kind of on par with how the child (source of creativity and imagination) is surrounded or guarded by the Sun, a Fire energy. Whether it’s a conscious level choice or it’s just how his core is set up, he’s very protective over that child energy or that creative energy.

The Water energy that I see here is like being moved through a tiny little tube into the realm of Fire, and the Fire is the leading energy of the creative process — the creative process as a whole being separate from the creative source and imagination. It’s very active and moving. Again, all of his creations serve a purpose, they build something, expand something, and so on.

It’s interesting because the Tiger is one of the very few cards in this deck that display a very positive balance between Water and Fire which is achieved through high levels of self-awareness. The Tiger is described as a Lunar Force and holds the energy of the Divine Feminine. It holds intuition and natural instinct over everything and moves accordingly, literally flowing and moving like water through the jungle while it hunts.

Very specifically it is pointed out that the Tiger hunts at night, which gives way to that association of Lunar force, and it says that the intuition is heightened at night under the Moon. So, in a roundabout way, it’s literally showing the child. The child plays when the Sun goes down. The child, that space of Water which rules over creativity, emotion, and intuition, is only ever fully awake when there is no actual work to be done. It’s just brainstorming, just dreaming, just playing, and then from there, what is conjured up in that pace, is then pushed through a tiny little tube into the space of Fire which is much more active and projected in a controlled manner.

The fact that this card is reversed doesn’t show any imbalance or misalignment, it just shows that “the Moon is down,” which means the Sun is up.

Black Egg.jpg

Elemental Fire Alignment: Black Egg — Spirit

And sure enough, here in the Fire Alignment, he has a Spirit card which would show that this alignment is synced up with the Higher Self and is very stimulated and guided. I’m actually really interested to know if when “the Sun is down,” would a Spirit card show up in the Water Alignment as these two areas trade stations between the Sun and the child?

The Black Egg is associated with the Throat Chakra, which rules over speech, communication, and clear expression and understanding. It is associated with honesty and the truth, and with this in his Fire Alignment, the base of projection, passion, and action, it shows that at his highest point, he is purely expressing himself exactly as he understands himself to be. He’s expressing that inner child. It’s such a raw and open honesty there and that may be why he’s so protective over it either consciously or energetically. It is the purest part of him, it is the most truthful.

In an odd way, I was seeing the image of the Black Egg as an eclipse. It’s like you see the Sun’s light reflecting off of the Moon, but you don’t see the full Moon itself. You see this shadow which, in my mind, kind of fits that expression that the Sun has, that very serious expression. That very stark and rigid outline to the Black Egg is that control, but the light that shines around it blends and fades out, it expands and lights up the space nonetheless.

I feel the need to keep reiterating this — the child and the Sun are two separate states but they exist in the same space, they are connected and they feed into each other.

Octopus.jpg

Elemental Earth Alignment: Octopus — Water

This makes me think that the choice to guard or hide the child isn’t a conscious one. The choice to keep private matters private and to monitor his public image is a conscious choice, but this more subconscious and unconscious matter of having these two separate states between the Sun and the child might not be a choice, at least not one he is fully aware of.

The Earth Alignment shows stability, groundedness, connection to the physical space, and self-awareness. This is kind of confusing because if we were to look at the Octopus as Baekhyun’s own perception of himself, it would completely go against everything that we’ve seen in the energy reading and in the previous placements.

The Octopus, in spite of being extremely intelligent, is all over the place, literally described as “lacking boundaries and direction,” which… isn’t true for Baekhyun if we go back to the Spider, the Tiger, the Black Egg, the Sun, The Hermit, the Ace of Swords, The Magician. He’s literally nothing but boundaries and direction. However, those boundaries and directions mostly exist between the Sun and the child. They mostly exist internally, perhaps more subconscious than conscious.

This could also be a matter of self-esteem. Like he could be aware of these boundaries and have a sense of his own direction, but for some reason he doesn’t trust himself, doesn’t feel like he’s actually capable of laying those guidelines — this would also explain why he seems to hand things out as suggestions rather than actually taking the lead entirely.

Maybe with the lack of Water energy he’s not so much intuitively guided as he is instinctually guided. Certain creative processes are second nature to him, some of them are innovative and progressive, so they don’t really fit the mold and he doesn’t know where they come from, therefore it can be a bit unnerving to actually put those full ideas forward and act on them, thus giving him this sense of having a big, giant Octopus brain, but these floppy and gangly arms that can’t seem to actually do anything but get tangled up in each other.

That’s just his own perception though, it doesn’t line up at all with what is shown to actually be happening within his core. The instability of this energy, the lack of direction, can come from a “disillusionment” that comes from jumping between the child and the Sun, jumping from a state of mind that is focused on the audience and another mindset that is fully focused on the purest form of creative brainstorming and dreaming.

So, internally, energetically, within the higher awareness, the Sun and the child balance together really well, they almost act as one as shown between the Tiger and the Black Egg, but on a very conscious, superficial level, it is being perceived as these opposing states that cause him to feel a bit disconnected.

horsepanther.jpg

Elemental Air Alignment:

Horse — Earth | Panther — Fire

Okay, literally…

Again, the Water and Fire Alignments are a reflection of the inner processing of the core, while the Earth and Air Alignments are a reflection of the external processing, much more connected to the conscious mind. The Air Alignment itself is what shows conscious-level thought processing and manner of expression or communication. This here, in the conscious-level thought process, with the Horse and the Panther is literally showing the perception of the Sun and the child as being opposing forces.

The Horse, which would be the child, is described with words like freedomexpansive, and momentum, while the Panther, which would be the Sun, has one key phrase describing it which is, “annihilation of the unnecessary.” Just to push the symbolism more, the Panther is associated with Fire, and the Horse literally has a Moon on its head, so…

So, consciously they are working against each other. Consciously they are being perceived as two states that can NOT co-exist, and this is what is leading to that sense of instability or lack of direction. Not only that but considering the Sun is what operates his career, he probably prioritizes that and has an awareness of how tightly bound it actually is and, again, gives a lot of sense to why he would want to protect that child aspect. He probably thinks that if the child were to ever actually come out during the day, or come out while the Sun is up, all of the restrictions or that tightly spun web would start to infiltrate that one space of freedom he has within himself.

Does that make sense? Again, it makes sense in my head but I don’t know if I’m explaining it right.

Of course, those are just theories. When it comes to people having a conscious thought process that opposes their core state, there can be a bunch of different reasons for why that actually is, and most of it is rooted in the subconscious, or it usually is.

Crow.jpg

Higher Self Core Alignment: Crow — Air

The Higher Self Core Alignment shows what energy the Higher Self is pushing down into the core in order to aid in the progress of the current phase or to initiate a new phase entirely, and once again, this may be hard to explain.

When I first laid this card down, my mind went back to the Ace of Swords, The Hermit, and The Magician, and when I read the description of this card it mentioned the Crow seeing the “three realities” in its mind’s eye. The “three realities” is referring to the Past, Present, and Future, but it holds its foundations in those three cards for him.

Those three cards where the people are holding up their beacons of guidance, awareness, and creation are like the standing pillars of his core, the very foundations of its internal processing. In the image, the Crow is standing on a rainbow ball thing which I was seeing as the core itself. With the heightened awareness of the Crow and it being able to “see the unseen and know the unknown,” it’s like the Higher Self is just pushing this awareness of the core state down into the conscious mind. I mean, I suppose it’s pretty simple, this is just something that would guide him towards awareness of his core, or more specifically, awareness of the balance and co-existence of the Sun and the child.

The focus is on Air energy again, it’s on the conscious mind and bringing that conscious mind towards the core state. What came to mind with this is waking up the Queen of Swords, getting her to sit up straight, be more of an authority, have more faith in her ability to lead, not being afraid of consciously mixing the Sun and the child. For Baekhyun, this could be a bit more personal, not really something that actually changes the way he works and functions on a grand scale, it’s just more about his self-perception. As I said before, he literally works from the core now, it’s just that he’s providing little hiccups to the process with his own self-perception where he believes he has no stability or solid process even though that’s literally all his core is.

That’s all I have for this one, thanks for reading!
